At ¡WEPA! líbros ™, our mission is to empower schools and public libraries by providing them with beautiful, multilingual literature that enhances access to authentic books for diverse communities nationwide. Through curated book collections, newcomer maletas, and engaging book fairs, we strive to enable bilingual communities to connect deeply with stories in their native languages, fostering environments where they can truly thrive.

How we started

Verónica Ramos is the founder and CEO of ¡WEPA! líbros ™. 

She started ¡WEPA! líbros ™ with the mission to make noteworthy multilingual literature accessible for children in the US. When communities have access to native language books that highlight authentic narratives, children are equipped to become powerful agents of change.

Prior to launching the business, Veronica spent a decade in the field of education. She began her career as an ESL educator, became a leader, university instructor & mentored the bilingual teacher pipeline in Chicago. Her experience in education serves as the catalyst in making ¡WEPA! líbros ™ a partner for community hubs that serve multilingual communities.  

Verónica has a deep personal commitment to serving multilingual communities, and has volunteered her time supporting refugee resettlement, immigrant education, and mentoring migrant students.

She has a BA in Spanish Language & Literature, Masters in Educational Leadership, and specializations in Bilingual & Special Education. 

Verónica currently lives in the Chicagoland area with her husband, daughter Vida, son Enrique, and her bilingual pets Nacho & Luquillo.
